I can definitely relate to many aspects of y...wow. I can definitely relate to many aspects of your story - especially the lack of "help" from your help meet. The way I used to described this was that I was going to war, all while being attacked by my own rear guard.<br /><br />I wouldn't however be too tough on yourself regarding your initial "religious" (rather than loving) mindset. Paul tells us we are trained by the law. What you went through was perfectly natural. You were an infant in Christ. Your spiritual understand was nil and therefore your own spirit not only wasn't mature enough to rest in love, grace, etc - you were still merely trying to put up boundaries on your natural self. Paul teaches us that is precisely what the "law" is for. To train us. And you were merely trying to get yourself, and your family "in order" - not being mature enough to know how to not DEMAND it. Not being saved, she also couldn't be counted on to understand the redeemed role of a help meet - and the struggle in her own flesh was certainly DOUBLY rebelling at the truth coming from you.<br /><br />I love these stories.
