Spirit-led Healing

I was asked by a friend whether we should always wait for the Holy Spirit to show us who He wants to heal before praying with a stranger. This is one of the most common questions people have about healing.
Being led by the Holy Spirit is always our goal, and we need to cooperate with Him in every healing or deliverance encounter.

While it's true that He will sometimes highlight certain people for healing that we are not aware of, it is not necessary to always wait for Him to highlight people for healing. The question of whether we should wait for Him to show us certain individuals arises when we are uncertain about whether it is God's will to heal all people or only certain ones.

It is difficult to pray with faith when we are uncertain about God's will for healing. We can know with certainty His will toward healing by looking at the New Testament. The gospels give us a clear understanding of the Father's will through the ministry of Jesus who healed multitudes of people of every kind of disease and demonic oppression:

"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick." (Matthew 8:16)

Jesus never refused to heal anyone who came to him, in fact, it is likely that He spent entire days doing nothing but healing people until He was exhausted. The will of God for healing was further revealed when Jesus commissioned His disciples to heal the sick and cast out demons making no exceptions about who was to be healed:

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8)

We see the disciples doing this exact thing in the book of Acts after Jesus ascended into heaven:
“Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed." (Acts 5:16)

The scriptures give no indication that there were any exceptions to healing in the ministry of Jesus or the disciples. If it is the will of God to heal all who are sick and demonized, then being Spirit-led is not an issue of who can be healed, but how they should be healed.

Looking at the model Jesus gave us, we see that with one person, He told them to arise and walk. For another it was a touch that healed their blindness. For someone else it was a little mud in their eye and with another, He told their friend to go home because they were already healed. Jesus used different methods for healing each person based on what the will of the Father was for their unique situation. This is what He meant when He said, "The son only does what He sees the Father doing." (John 5:19)

Being led by the Spirit has to do with the particular method God wants us to use to heal each person. Sometimes it will be a touch, sometimes a command, sometimes we'll ask them to get up from their wheelchair and attempt to walk. Just as Jesus was led to do certain things to release a miracle, we must learn to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in how He wants us to bring healing to each person we encounter.

Margaret's Miracle

Originally posted here on John Mellor's Facebook page.

Today, Julie and I caught up with Margaret Neely in Belfast. Margaret is a walking miracle.

For 9 years she was a housebound cripple in a wheelchair. Her spine had been shattered and she was told she'd never walk again. She heard about the miracles happening at my meetings in Scotland in 2000 when revival broke out. Something in her told her that she had to get to the meetings from her home in Northern Ireland.

It took Margaret from 4am in the morning to 7pm at night to travel on a ferry and in several disabled taxis to get to the meetings in Scotland. She had to confront many fears to get to the meetings, having not left her home in so long. I prayed for her many times on the first night she came, but nothing happened. I encouraged her not to give up and told her if she kept coming I'd keep praying for her.

The next weekend, she made the long trip from Belfast to Scotland again. Again, there was no change after prayer. However, Margaret witnessed many outstanding miracles at the meetings and I continued to encourage her to keep believing for and pursuing her miracle.

She came a third weekend, but again wasn't healed.

On the fourth weekend, when she arrived, God spoke to me and told me that Margaret would walk that night. Mid way through preaching, God prompted me to stop and pray for Margaret. I held her hands and said, 'In the name of Jesus, get up and walk.'

Margaret later testified that she felt heat down her spine and she got up out of her wheelchair and walked. It was an amazing miracle! Margaret's testimony is inspirational because it demonstrates that not all healing is instant. Very often there's a process involved. God often wants to touch and heal the heart and emotions first, and this was certainly the case with Margaret who had many traumas and abuses throughout her life that needed to be healed.

It may seem that God isn't doing anything at times, but He is often at work on things you can't see. It also often takes a level of desperation and an attitude to be open to working with God and applying His principles to get the miracle. 12 years after her miracle, Margaret is still walking and serves God by ministering to others.

God bless you Margaret!

Jesse's Story

This is the testimony of Jesse Snow, a Facebook friend who agreed to let me post the story of his introduction to the supernatural life. The original message can be found on his Facebook page here

One day during the summer of 2010 I was checking my email and opened the latest update from Intentional Gatherings, my brother Aaron's non-profit organization. The email was talking about a new project that I.G. was starting to get involved with called Student CPx (Church Planting Experience). SCPx is basically a week long training for college students to plant simple churches on their college campuses and reach the world around them with the love of Jesus.

This email included a testimony from one of the recent SCPx's, which are held all over the nation. I read about how God healed the injuries of several football players after a student and one of the leaders prayed for them. This was completely foreign to me, but I loved it.

A few weeks later I was down in Austin, Texas with my brother Samuel visiting Aaron, his wife Morgan, and their baby girl Eliza. While I was there Aaron and I had a conversation about things he had been learning lately. He explained to me what it meant to pray "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven." He explained that Jesus told his disciples to declare "The kingdom of heaven is near" and that when the kingdom of heaven comes supernatural things happen - like people getting healed. There is no sickness or disease in heaven, and according to Jesus' model prayer God doesn't want it to exist on earth either.

I thought that I ought to go to a SCPx before moving to Hawaii in late July. Aaron encouraged me to do so too. The next one was in San Diego and Aaron was already scheduled to be on leadership. We flew out to be there the week of July 19 - 23, 2010.

Student CPx

This week in San Diego is really where it all began. The event was hosted by Origins, a campus ministry at UCSD led by Brian and Cecilee Orme. There I met a group of (mostly) college students who truly lived together in community as a real spiritual family. Eric Waterbury came down from Sacramento to be one of the speakers and shared with us his personal testimony and teach us about spiritual family and identity in Christ. Brian Orme, Eric Waterbury, Brad McCoy, Erik Fish, Pam Arlund, and Neil Cole all came to speak. All of these leaders are simply incredible and if I go into depth on any of them this note will be way too long. They have all had a tremendous impact on my life. The first two days were all about identity in Christ - knowing who you are and whose you are. Knowing the love that God has for you and finding your value in Him and nothing else. This is something I will spend the rest of my life uncovering.

The next part of the training was on healing and deliverance taught by Brian Orme. Brian shared some amazing testimonies and taught us about the authority we have. Once again, this was all brand new to me and I was eager to learn as much as I could. I was asking him about it and he gave me a simple challenge: "Pray for 200 people [to be healed]. If you don't see anyone healed after the 200th person, then its not for you. But I guarantee you won't make it to 200 before people start getting healed."

That was exactly the type of prompting I needed. I needed something measurable, something I could grasp. Those words stayed in my mind long after the week was over. I had always wanted the power to heal people, even before I knew it was possible. I grew up obsessed with superheroes and superpowers. Then 20 years into my life somebody told me I had some, and I haven't been the same since.

Back to the week of SCPx. This week was my introduction to the supernatural. That week was the first time I saw people speaking in tongues (and they weren't crazy people, they were of a sound mind and passionately in love with God and humanity), the first time I saw people "drunk in the Spirit" (I'm sorry if that offends you, its just terminology people use, but it is a biblical manifestation, please ask me about it), the first time I saw prophetic dreams come true before my eyes, and the first time I saw a miracle of healing. It was also where I received the gift of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues for the first time (see my note "One-Year Anniversary," this is another idea that offends people but is absolutely biblical).

A Dream Come True (literally)
On one of the days we were sent out to do a "treasure hunt." I had never heard of that before, but it is basically a method of evangelism. It starts by asking the Holy Spirit for clues about certain people that He wants to speak to. The clues can be names of locations, clothing/appearance, etc. After you write down enough clues your group sets out to find those people. When you find the people whom the Holy Spirit was telling you about, you tell them about how you're on a treasure hunt and they are the treasure (God's treasure). You show them the description of them that you had written down and share God's love for them and why He sent you to them. If they have any need you give to them whatever you can (money, food, healing, prophetic word, encouragement, direction, whatever).

We started in groups of 3 (ours was Caryn Werner, Erik Bagley, and me) and prayed to receive words of knowledge from the Holy Spirit (see 1 Cor. 12). I had never had a vision, received a WoK, or anything like that before, so I just kind of went with it and let Caryn and Eric write down all the "clues." We set out and found the people that they had written descriptions of, which was pretty cool in itself, but the coolest thing that happened was when we were finished.

You see, at the beginning of the day, Erik told us to let him know if we saw a girl with a fish on her shirt. He explained that he had had a dream 3 nights ago when he was still in Redding, CA (where he was a student at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry). In that dream God showed him that he would soon meet a girl with a fish on her shirt. That girl would have back pain because one of her legs would be shorter than the other. I thought, "that's interesting."

Then at the end of our treasure hunt we were just hanging out when a girl walked by us. When Erik saw her he immediately left us and went to talk with the girl. When I saw them talking I immediately went to see if this was the girl. I walked up to them, looked at Erik, looked at the girl, looked at her shirt, which had a fish on it, and thought, "Noooo way." They were just having a normal conversation and then Erik asked her if she ever got back pain. She responded yes, that it ran in her family. He asked if she knew whether her legs were even in length or if she'd ever had that checked, because uneven legs cause back pain. She didn't know, so he asked her if she would mind sitting down to check.

We went over to a place where she could sit and Erik held her feet with her legs straight out in front of her. Her right leg was noticeably shorter than her left by about an inch or inch and a half. Erik spoke to her leg and told it to grow out in Jesus' name, then we watched it obey (see Mark 11:23). That was pretty exciting to say the least. Not only did I watch everything he told me about his dream come true, I saw a miracle for the first time of my life. She stood up, walked around and felt totally different and free of her back pain.

This girl had already told us she was getting involved witchcraft, but instead of shoving religion down her throat, Erik just introduced her to Jesus. Then he got to tell her how much Jesus loves and cares about her. He cares about every aspect of her life, even an inch difference between the way her legs grew and the way he designed them to be, even her back pain. I'd like to point out that God didn't say, "renounce witchcraft," "believe," or "repent" before he would heal her, he just showed her his kindness. Its His kindness that leads us to change (Rom. 2:4).

God Smells
One of the nights that week we were all gathered in our regular nightly meeting room to worship God. We praised Him in song and many sang songs of love in angelic languages (1 Cor. 13:1). I heard the most beautiful languages I had ever heard that night. Many were overwhelmed with the supernatural peace and joy of the Holy Spirit, what people call "drunk in the Spirit," and were laughing almost uncontrollably for hours straight. They had felt a touch of God's infinite love for them and couldn't help but be excessively happy.

Not long after a few girls next to me started getting really drunk, a scent manifested in that spot where we were. It was a sweet fragrance, and since we were in a closed room I looked around to see if anyone had opened perfume or something. No one had, and the scent, which I could now clearly distinguish as the smell of wine, only grew stronger and filled the room. I would have been really confused if I hadn't already been introduced to the supernatural, and if I hadn't heard a hint of such a manifestation earlier that week when Caryn mentioned that she had "smelled God" (which I thought was the craziest thing I had ever heard). I was still analyzing all this in my head and trying to come up with a logical explanation when Brian Orme came over to us. He leaned in and cleverly joked, "that's the best wine tasting you've ever been to, huh?" I realized that the scent was a sign the Holy Spirit gave us to confirm the word when Jesus spoke of "the new wine." The Holy Spirit is the new wine, and we are the new wine skins.

My First Miracle
I think it might have been Wednesday night when we were sent into the city to heal the sick. We went in groups and prayed for a man with a broken leg, he thanked us and then said he had to go into the restaurant for dinner. We didn't see anything happen, but we were still feeling pretty free and joyful. We didn't see anyone else that night who needed physical healing but did minister to some other people.

Once again, we were finished doing what we were doing and all just hanging out on the sidewalk at the end of the night waiting to be picked up. Courtney and I were sitting on some stairs with a girl named Sky with us who was visiting from China. I was telling Sky about the girl whose leg had grown out and she was pretty shocked. Courtney said, "Have you ever checked if you have a short leg?" (turns out its actually a pretty common thing). Sky put both her legs out straight and sure enough one was short. I looked at Courtney as if expecting her to do it, but she just told me to do it (she had already done it many times before and was wise enough to give me the opportunity to experience it firsthand).

So I held Sky's feet, closed my eyes (I was afraid nothing would happen so didn't want to look), and started telling the right leg to grow out. I still had my eyes closed when I heard Sky start exclaiming, "Ah! My leg stretched! I felt my leg stretch!" I opened my eyes and she was freaking out (in a good way). But now instead of being even, her right leg was an inch longer than her left leg, which confused me. Thank God Courtney was there! She just said "that happens sometimes, just grow the left one out now to match!" So I did the same thing and her left leg grew out an inch. Both legs were now even and she stood up about an inch taller than before! Later in the car I heard Sky very excitedly telling her mom over the phone in China what had just happened. She was still freaking out and was nearly brought to tears. I was pretty excited too!

My Own Personal Prayer Language
I think it was Wednesday or Thursday night of that week when we were in that same room we had been meeting each night to worship. Brian stood up and started talking, but I had no idea what he was talking about at first. He said, "When I first heard about this I thought, 'There's more? Of course I want more.'" He said to stand up if if we hadn't been baptized in the Holy Spirit yet and wanted to. I wasn't sure what that meant, but I did know that anything that was of God, I wanted. I knew there was more and I wanted it.

I still didn't know what "it" was though. He taught us, "Its not just going to happen by itself, you have to choose to speak it out." A group of five or so people gathered around each of us who were standing and put their hands on us. They started praying in tongues aloud and every now and then one of them would tell me an instruction from God, like, "Don't over think it, just receive." I just stood there for a few minutes with my mind reeling. I had no idea what to do, how to "listen," or how to "receive." I knew I was supposed to "speak it out" but I had no idea what to speak out. Eric Waterbury was directly in front of me, and he told me to just start thanking God aloud. So I thanked God for everything I could think of, which at that time, didn't take very long (not because there wasn't an innumerable amount of things that God could've been thanked for, but because of my spiritual immaturity). After a minute or two I couldn't think of anything else and stopped speaking.

I was listening to Eric speaking in his prayer language and remembered what Brian said, that I had to speak it out. I decided to just move my tongue in my mouth and immediately it started dancing around in my mouth. That's the only way I know how to describe it. Then I decided to stop and it did. Then I started again and it started dancing again. So I figured I should speak it out now, though I was still timid and it was little more than a whisper. Fortunately the room was filled with people speaking in tongues so when I spoke out I didn't feel like all the attention was on me. I spoke for a few minutes and then we finished. As soon as we did, Caryn and Courtney Werner were like, "Did you feel that!?" "Yeah, electricity shot up our arms as soon as you started speaking!" I thought that was pretty cool, but I had still never felt anything like that before and didn't then.

Immediately doubts started coming at me about what just happened. It felt too easy, too natural, like it was something I could have done my whole life. Caryn helped explain to me in the few minutes we had and told me how I could test it myself. She said just count while speaking in tongues and you'll realize that its not your mind producing it, its your spirit, because your mind can still count and do everything else. I tried and realized I could think, count, and later realized that I could read and write and do anything while speaking in tongues. My mind is absolutely not involved at all besides choosing when to start and when to stop. "The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church" (1 Cor. 14:4). "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also" (1 Cor. 14:14-15).

I hadn't yet learned these things though, so I was still struggling with doubt. It just seemed too easy and like something I could have done all along (later I looked back and realized that in the past I was never able to speak in tongues if I tried, for instance when I tried to fake speaking a foreign language it would not be fluent or sound real at all). So the next day when I talked to Erik Fish about it, he told me about his experience and showed me every chapter in the Book of Acts where it happened. He really encouraged me and solidified the truth of this for me.

Back Home
The last couple days of SCPx included awesome teaching from Brad McCoy (on prophecy), Erik Fish (on the origin of SCPx), Pam Arlund (on missions), and Neil Cole (on simple church, discipleship, and how "that stuff can't get on me"). They all also shared lots of amazing testimonies of God's supernatural works. I can't thank any of the leaders enough for what they do and the impact they've had on me: Aaron Snow, Eric Waterbury, Brian Orme, Brad McCoy, Erik Fish, Pam Arlund, Neil Cole, and Eric Bagley (even though he wasn't an official leader, he was still a leader and really impacted me, not just because of the prophetic dream and miracle, but the spirit of love and peace that he carried).

When I got back home I had less than a week left before I would move to Hawaii on July 29, 2010. I told my parents and my brothers almost all of what I had experienced. My brother Samuel went to the next SCPx in Austin about a month later and had amazing supernatural encounters too.

The Word of Knowledge

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom, through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another the gift of faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit...."
(1 Cor. 12:7-10 )

The word of knowledge is supernatural revelation, by the Holy Spirit, of certain facts in the mind of God about something we do not presently know. It is information about a past or a present situation that is true. The word of knowledge is considered by some to be one of three revelation gifts, which serve as spiritual eyes and ears for the church. The others are the word of wisdom and discerning of spirits. It’s important to note that the word of knowledge is given to benefit others, as are all the gifts of the Spirit, except tongues - which edifies us.

Just as a word is a fragment or part of a sentence, a "word" of knowledge is a fragment or a part of God's knowledge of a situation. He gives us a piece of information to aid in bringing something to pass concerning that situation. Once we receive God’s revelation, it’s our responsibility to ask what He wants us to do with it. If we lock it away in our hearts we hinder the work He wants to do. His desire is to bless us so that we, in turn, might bless others.

Some purposes for the word of knowledge:
  • To lead people to Christ
  • To give direction in ministry
  • To reveal sickness to those operating in healing
  • To restore the believer back to fellowship with God
  • To provide encouragement
The word of knowledge can come in a number of different ways. Some hear the voice of God speaking, while others receive a word through dreams or visions. A word of knowledge for healing often presents as a sudden pain in our body that we don’t normally have. Learning to receive a word of knowledge comes by developing sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The revelation gifts are relational – as we develop a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, we grow in our awareness of how He communicates with us.

Examples of the word of knowledge from scripture:

Jesus frequently operated in the word of knowledge. He told two of his disciples to go into a village and get a donkey that no man had ever ridden before, telling them where to find the donkey. (Luke 19:30,31) While talking with the woman at the well of Samaria, Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband...” The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. (John 4:16-19) In this case, the word of knowledge revealed the identity of Jesus to the woman.

Peter received a word of knowledge in a vision, when God revealed that the gospel was for Gentiles as well as Jews. As he pondered the first bit of information, the first Gentiles arrived at his front door. God told him that three men were looking for him and that he should meet with them, doubting nothing. (Acts 10:9-20)

Ananias received a word of knowledge in a vision concerning a new believer named Saul of Tarsus: “And there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias… so the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” (Acts 10:10-12)

There are words of knowledge recorded in both Old and New Testaments. Through a word of knowledge, Samuel told Saul that the donkeys that were lost had been found. (1 Sam. 9:19,20) When the king of Syria was making war against Israel. The Lord spoke to Elisha through a word of knowledge to reveal the enemies plans. (2 Kings 6:9-12)

The word of knowledge can encourage us. Jezebel was out to kill Elijah. Out of fear, Elijah ran and found himself sitting under a juniper tree, begging God to let him die. Thinking he was the only prophet left, God encouraged the prophet by telling him, "I have 7,000 in Jerusalem who have not bowed their knee to Baal." (1 Kings 19:18)

In the realm of healing, a word of knowledge isn’t a guarantee that the individual will be miraculously healed. It serves to make us aware that a condition exists, and that God would like us address it. Until we take action, it’s just information. If we don’t enforce God’s will concerning the word given, nothing will change. One of the first words of knowledge I received was for a man with Lou Gehrig’s disease. I believe he will eventually walk again, but after two years of prayer, he’s still paralyzed, living in a nursing home. Some things require more persistence than others.

Some of us see individuals that God wants to focus on as they become highlighted in a spotlight, making them stand out from the crowd. I sometimes receive words of knowledge in dreams. Some are very specific, with the name of the person and their condition being revealed. In some dreams I’m discussing the condition with them on Facebook.

A word of knowledge may be given to encourage us to pray for a condition we wouldn’t normally have faith to heal. I received a word of knowledge in a dream about healing people with birth defects. When I returned to work after two days off, my first patient was a girl with Down syndrome, which I wouldn’t normally have faith to heal. One day I developed a sharp pain in the back of my hand, but I had done nothing to injure it. I began to ask people around me if they had pain in their hand, but no one did. I finally told my EMT partner about it. He told me he had pain in the exact same spot in his hand for a week after falling out of a tree when the branch he was holding onto suddenly broke. I prayed for his hand and it was healed.

One of the more unusual words of knowledge I received was about a problem I had while replacing the timing belt on my car. After putting everything back together, it wouldn’t start. I checked the service manual and looked at the timing marks again, but couldn’t find the problem. I closed my eyes and asked God what the problem was. In a vision, I saw the camshaft gear and noticed it had two timing marks. I was aware of only one. The mark I used was the wrong one. After locating the other timing mark and making the correction, the car ran perfectly.

If you’d like to operate in the word of knowledge, ask God to reveal things to you and spend time getting to know His ways. The revelation gifts are relational and time is the commodity of relationships.

Praying For Birth Defects

I had a dream one night about healing people with birth defects such as Down syndrome. I didn't know anyone who needed prayer for birth deffects so I posted it as a word of knowledge on Facebook. Many of my friends responded with excitement and began praying with increased faith for the healing of their friends and family members. I prayed for people I'd received prayer requests for. In my mind, the dream was just for Facebook friends. This happened on the first of my two nights off duty.

When I returned to work two days later, my first patient was a 5 year old girl with Down syndrome. I was a little shocked. Could the dream have been a word of knowledge for her?

With excitement, I told the girl's mother about the dream. She was a Christian. She gave me permission to pray with her daughter. She had acute bronchiolits, but her main problem was a gradual left-sided weakness that she’d had for about a month. A CAT scan showed that she had a misaligned C-1/ C-2 joint, which was suspected of causing the weakness. We took her to a larger hospital that had the capability of pediatric neurosurgery. Her father rode along. I told him about the dream. He was overjoyed that I wanted to pray for her.

In the ambulance, I prayed over the girl as her father prayed in tongues. I commanded her neck to be healed and for Down's syndrome to be healed. Without the dream, I may not have had the faith to pray for that. We talked about the Lord and the great things He had done in our lives. We navigated the maze of hallways and arrived at our destination. After giving report to the staff and moving her to bed, her father grabbed my hand and thanked me. I have him a hug a card for the website and asked him to contact me and let me know how she did.

If he sends word, I'll let you know.

Sue's Treasure Hunt With Jesus

This story was submitted by my friend Sue Wilke.
Jesus took me on a treasure hunt today.
I went to the mall this morning.

I stopped into the coffee shop. I don't drink coffee, but HE told me to go in. As I waited in line thinking I would purchase a hot chocolate, there was a woman in front of me. She was complaining, couldn't here about what. I heard HIM say "touch her", so I asked her if she is ok, she told me she has bulging discs, fractured discs, and might have cancer. I told her Jesus instructed me to come in and talk to you. She smiled and said, she prayed just as she was walking in there today. I said well, lets pray, after, we then grew her leg out and she was shocked she felt it move. I gave her my name and said keep in touch.

Then I started to the store, the Lord said turn and go this way instead. He said "go to the lady on the bench." As I turned the corner their was a lady sitting by herself on the bench. I approached her and said the Lord wanted me to talk with you, are you ok? She began to cry. I said HE wants me to pray for you, she said thank you and we prayed for emotional healing, peace, HIS rest.

As I walked through the mall, HE said "go into the shoe store. There's a man at the cashier, go to HIM." I said, "yes Lord." I saw no man at the cashier but a woman. As I got closer, there he was, standing next to her. I said "c'mon Lord he's busy." HE said, "don't worry he will come to you." Sure enough he appraoched me, the Lord said "feet" I asked him if he had trouble with his feet, He said he stands all day and they hurt, plus he is a runner and they overpronate. I said "lets look at your legs." So we sat him down and sure enough one leg was longer than the other. So we grew out his leg to match. He was so happy and said, "thank you." we talked about Jesus, then I was on my way.

Finally I made it to my store, HE said "ask the man about his leg." I said, "O.K." The man approached me and asked if I needed help. I asked if he had pain in his leg. He said "yes, I just took off my knee brace, hurt it skiing." I asked to pray, he declined. I honored that.

Then I left that store and as I as walking, a bunch of wheel chairs passed me and went into the store. I heard the Lord say "go to the earings section." I went, and their was a lady in a wheelchair who just passed me at the earing section. I asked her what happened she said she was in two car accidents. She let me pray for her spine and her brain and then I was off. I questioned "is she healed?" HE said, "don't worry I'm working" I thought...."OK". I then proceeded out. Stopped and purchased some things and the lady next to me gave me a coupon worth $37 dollars off my purchase.

Abundant favor today....HE was busy. Thank you Father, for letting me be in the room with you while you work. I LOVE HIM!!!!!

Joel Jackson Prophetic & Healing Evangelism

Watch and learn with my friend Joel Jackson as he ministers healing and prophetic words to a group of teenagers. This is a great example of how we can touch the lives of strangers. Not everyone needs healing, but everyone could use an encouraging word from God.

Healing Down Under

I asked a Facebook friend, from Australia, Jessie Campbell, to e-mail me a few interesting healing stories. This is what I received. God never ceases to amaze me:

Today, I felt like God was finally out of the box. It wasn't me being let out of the box, it was HIM. When a need was observed He was drawn and fulfilled it. As they say in Oz: "Too easy!"

So in the middle of homeschool (which had turned into a lesson on forgiveness and love) we got a call from someone I didn't know. She said she was a friend of the man who we prayed for and had woke within a few hours from the coma and could I pray for her niece who could not absorb any nutrients into her body since the chemo for the leukemia. I asked if they wanted me to come and she said yes and gave me a few details of what floor of the hospital her niece was on. We stopped our discussion and Skinny Man and I left for the 1 1/2 hr drive. We prayed in tongues together on the way and prayed for the young woman. When we arrived in the city and parked, a man was walking towards us with an injured arm in a cast like contraption. I asked what happened and saw his hand was severely cut. I asked to pray and he said no, but I found myself touching his hand anyway and praying over the stitches and lacerations and could feel how new it was (as if I could feel the restoration process that the body was involved with). It seems I have lost the social etiquette when it comes to healing. Go Holy Spirit! LOL!

Then we entered the hospital and had to find reception and the lady behind the counter was shaking her head in frustration after she gave the man she was speaking to directions. I asked if she was having a bad day and took her hand and prayed for God's blessing on the rest of her day. Then up the elevator. We could have stood in front of the elevator and prayed all day. Anyway we arrive on the 7th floor and the young woman wasn't there but there were 3 other beds with patients being attended to. We were directed where she was across the street in the church lawns. I found the group and asked if she was there. Her mother pointed to where she was. (As they were all strangers; but not for long)

The mother thought I was a psychic or something when I mentioned I was there to pray for her daughter. I told her it was Jesus, and that her relative had called me and she was happily surprised. So I joined the young woman on the grass and told her I had come to pray for her. She had such tender brown eyes and looked more like a small defenseless child than an adult. I laid hands and commanded and she could feel the heat in her hands ( I had her lay her hands on her bowels with my hands on top). God gave me a WOK (word of knowledge) that her heart had been broken and I asked her and she nodded yes and I prayed for that too. He gave me another WOK that she believed she was going to die and I bound and crushed that. The Father poured His love upon her and I left. As I ran into her mother a few minutes later, I asked if I could pray for her, but she said no and asked if He heals broken hearts. I said yes but she refused prayer. So as I kept running into her on the 7th floor, she told me she had just spoken to her daughter and she had told her mom that she wasn’t going to let this defeat her, she was going to fight. So God put the fight back into her.

I had brought the last sheet of gold paper with me and envelopes but had forgotten the love letter that the Holy Spirit had dictated and SkinnyMan suggested I ask God again and He would write her another one or remind me of the last one. Out of the mouth of babes…..So I sat near the mother and wrote carefully His letter much of it was what I remembered but some was just for her. I cried as I read it back. I folded it and enclosed it in the envelope and wrote For You Happy Valentine’s Day and gave it to her. She thanked me but looked downcast as if how is this going to help. I told her to read it as it was from Him. I saw her one more time near the elevators and she said Thank you (I believe she had red it). I touched her and said goodbye.

One of the young woman's relatives, a teen aged boy was standing nearby in the church garden and I said hello and noticed he had a bandage on his hand. I asked what happened and he told me with an embarrassed look that he had had a fight and had severed some tendons. I looked at him and said God will heal that no matter how you got it. I said let’s pray for that and asked for his hand. I prayed the first time and he had improvement. I prayed again and it was better. I told him let’s get 100% that’s what Jesus wants and when I stopped he said it was good. I laughed and asked if that was because he wanted to get rid of me and he said no, it’s good and started talking to his mate, laughing, in unbelief because he could barely move it before and now he was bending it and flexing it. I touched both their faces and said Jesus made you and He loves you and cautioned the young man who just got healed to take care of that hand.

From there we exited the hospital and found a man sitting on the stairs with a crutch. I asked him what happened and he told me a detailed story of how he contracted Hepatitis B. I asked to pray and when I laid hands on him, I could feel the presence of God enter in. He had a peace that was already his but the Lord filled him up. He said he was a Christian although he was not living as such and I was so glad I didn’t need to moralise his situation and correct him but simply minister the healing that was already his.

Next we went to the Christian Bookstore that was nearby and the young woman behind the café counter took our order. When she came to the table I asked if she needed any prayer and she said there were a couple of issues and that she was going to China and needed finances for missions work. I prayed and she felt the presence of God (and was hot and shaking slightly). She left and came back out later and started talking again and said she had never asked this before but wanted a husband. So I laid hands and prayed and God gave me such a precious word for her. We hugged and said good-bye again. Then as SkinnyMan and I opened our Scripture cookies (like fortune cookies only true), I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to pray for her protection. We went back inside the café and I asked if she had had any prayer for protection for this missions trip; she said she hadn’t and this is where the real fun began. I prayed for her to be hid in Christ in China and for her ministry to be protected. After I finished she said when she was complaining to the Lord about her lack of knowledge and understanding about what to do in China, He kept telling her she knew what to do and she said “well how?” He reminded her she knew how to be undercover. This is when she told me she was a “born Muslim” from Malaysia and had to hide her faith for 20 years and detested doing so, as she wanted to proclaim Him. And now He was going to use that experience for her to set the captives free in China! How about that? ! Is He good, or is He good?! Just before SkinnyMan and I left, I went to purchase a lavender leather bound journal for her and wrote in her card to that she could write down the adventures of love she was embarking on with Him. She said "You shound't have." I told I didn't it was from Him!
Man, it was a good day!

IF THESE AREN'T WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR...I'VE GOT HEAPS...
Shalom brother,
Jessie

Mitral Valve Prolapse - Two Options

The first video shows the surgical repair of a prolapsed heart valve. It may be too graphic for some viewers.

If you are diagnosed with a prolapsed mitral valve, you have two options for treatment.

Option one: Surgery. The first video below shows the surgical repair of a prolapsed mitral valve.

Option two: Divine healing. The second video is the testimony of a woman healed by the power of God.

This is the testimony of a woman healed of a prolapsed mitral valve at a conference where Matt Sorger had a word of knowledge. Follow up exams with her doctor confirmed the healing.

Brian Fenimore - Revelation In Ministry

If you've ever wanted to learn about receiving words of knowledge and revelation from God, this video is for you. Brian Fenimore is a gifted healer, prophet and teacher. Get a note pad and learn from one of the best.

There are numerous methods people use for healing the sick. Some use a method based on simple obedience to what the bible says about healing. This method is the easiest to learn. You pray when you see a need and believe they will be healed. This is the method used by people like Curry Blake and Andrew Womack.

Brian teaches a different method. In this lesson he teaches on hearing the voice of God and knowing specifically what God wants us to do in releasing his power to heal. This is referred to as prophetic healing. Brian uses the ministry of Jesus as his teaching model and addresses world views, perceptions of God's nature and the idea that God wants us to partner with us in what we do. Brian has a website where more instructional resources can be found. His website can be found here.

Xtranormal Healing

What do medics do for amusement on a long, boring shift when nobody wants a ride to the hospital?

Some of them make movies.

Steven Spielberg's job is safe. And I'm no Darren Wilson. But I had a desire to create videos that show people healing in every day situations. This is a short video in which two strangers meet and have an Xtranormal conversation. Our healer receives a few words of knowledge and begins building a bridge of relationship. The words of knowledge surprise the woman, forcing her to consider that this guy is getting information from a higher power. When she feels power going into her body, she now has evidence that something supernatural is happening. The woman perceives healing as an act of compassion; revealing the heart of the man who prays and a God who heals out of love. Having built a safe environment for the relationship, she wants to know more about the God who made it happen. The healer can now discuss the kingdom of God with her.

Let me know what you think.
